The 30th Central Pennsylvania Geotechnical Conference is issuing a “Call for Papers” focusing on Challenges and Advances in Geotechnical Engineering. Of particular interest are papers related to Regional Projects and the following…

- Foundation Re-Use, Rehabilitation and Repair
- Responses to Geotechnical-Related Disasters
- Stability & Performance of Slopes and Embankments, including Repair of Failed Slopes or Repair of Failed Retaining Structures
- Dams and Levee Design and Remediation Challenges
- Excavation Support Design & Construction
- Infrastructure: Highway, Rail, Transit and Utilities
- Innovative Uses of Common Geotechnical Solutions for Challenges of the 21st Century
Key Dates:
- October 20, 2017: Abstracts due – 300 to 500 words (max. 1 typewritten page).
- November 20, 2017: Notification of accepted papers.
- August 13, 2018: Draft paper and presentation due.
- September 17, 2018: Final papers due.
- Oct. 31 – Nov. 2, 2018: Attendance & Presentation at Conference.
Authors of accepted abstracts will be required to provide an advance draft copy of their paper and presentation by August 13, 2018 AND to submit electronic versions of written final papers for inclusion in the proceedings (issued electronically to all attendees) by September 17, 2018. Authors of accepted abstracts will also be expected to prepare and give a presentation of their paper at the Conference in Hershey, PA from October 31 to November 2, 2018.

To create a submission, please follow the steps in order below.
- Click on the link below to create a submission or copy and paste into your browser: https://catalyst.omnipress.com/#collection/170/submission
- If you already have an account in CATALYST, Login.
- A new blank submission will be created. [If a new blank submission is not automatically created, click the link again.]
- A new submission can also be created by clicking SUBMISSIONS in the Dashboard menu. Then click Create Submission on the right.
Please note: If you have submitted to another collection in CATALYST, you may see [submissions|reviews|notifications] on your dashboard. They will be separated by the title of the Event/Collection they are part of.
- If you do not have an account in CATALYST, click on the Register tab.
- Enter your email address, password and confirm password. Click the Sign up button. [An email will be sent to you.]
- Click on the turquoise button in your email labeled, “Confirm Account.”
- A pop-up will appear stating, “Thank you for confirming your email.”
- Click on the “Please click here to login.”
- Login to your account.
- Once logged in, a turquoise box will pop up at the top of your screen indicating you have created a submission.
- Read the Information tab.
- Complete all the required fields on all the tabs.
- Click “Save” on the bottom right of your screen after you complete each tab.
- Click on the “Submit” button on the bottom right of your screen when you are ready to submit your abstract.
